I now live in Topeka, Kansas, with my wife (bless her), no pets (don't like 'em), no children (all moved out), and with many gallons of home-made wine bubbling as I write. My biggest acheivement to date (apart from the successful parenting of my darling daughter) is my published novel; "Opportunities: Jamie Leith in Darien." I'm not confined by genres, having equal success in Historical adventure, Sci Fi, Fantasy, Horror and hard hitting gritty crime. I watch far too much football (Don't even think of calling it 'soccer'.) and at times chase a dimpled ball along carefully manicured countryside, with a collection of calibrated, graphite-shafted sticks. I play guitar and sing in a folk/rock band, and would love to have enough money to tour the world's archeological sites until I'm too old to walk. The Weekend Trippers is the true story of Carole's father-in-law, Ted Taylor, and his part in the Rifle Brigade's last stand in Calais in May 1940. Whilst writing The Weekend Trippers Carole also began writing a docu-drama based on the diaries of both Ted and his fiancee Brenda. While Ted languished in various POW camps in Poland Brenda waited for him, surviving the Blitz and working as a nurse in London. Called The Cat & The Nightingale Saga, these are in several volumes and the first three are now available in print. Carole has also written another novel called A Second in Time based on the strange disappearance of 30,000 POWs at the end of World War 2. Carole has wide ranging interests and together with her husband David has also written two spiritual books, The Re-Enlightenment and Holiday from Hell which are available on Amazon. Carole lives in Essex with her husband David and a rather ancient, slightly deaf, Border Collie called Reubin. She works at the Military Corrective Training Centre in Colchester, the UK Forces only remaining detention centre and is currently writing a book about its history. Like any writer, I depend on the kindness of strangers. Generous small literary publications have in the past occasionally published my stories. Some are in "Short Stories Online," an ebook here. "The Drip Theory" remains one of the most popular articles I ever wrote. It is included in a new ebook, "The Stars." I came up with the "Drip Theory" I don't know when, but when I mentioned it to a few people, they all went wild, at least half in derisive terms. "The Meddlers," and "Peeps" deal with what might happen if there was virtual travel to nearby stars, which I think will happen. I am continuing to work on Enhanced eBooks, which includes photos or films or music. Here, "The Underground," is perhaps the best example, but there is some enhancement with photos or art in "Famous Fake Books," "Rock Star Diet," and "Girlfriends Lost." The enhancement makes the books harder to edit for publication through the premium catalogue. The typescript gets variable--big--small--different fonts. The conversion process rips away formatting I guess. I am just a simple literary anarchist, working my way up to I don't know what.
