Après cinq années supplémentaires au sein de cette merveille institution, j’ai pris le relais de mon épouse, alors à mi-temps pour s’occuper de notre première fille, à l’occasion de la naissance de notre second enfant en 2007. Pris au jeu de cette occupation pas déplaisante, j’ai prolongé d’année en année ce droit jusqu’à opter pour un congé sans solde en 2010, qui marquait déjà l’entrée de ma seconde fille dans sa quatrième année, qui se poursuit toujours à l’heure actuelle. Marqué et éprouvé par un drame familial, l’idée m’est venue de transposer cette souffrance sur papier pour tenter de soulager ma peine et conserver un souvenir intact de ces moments, si douloureux fussent-ils, pour un usage immémorial au sein d’une autobiographie. Pris au jeu des mots, j’ai enchaîné sur un roman sociologique traitant du divorce des jeunes parents auto-édité via un support immatériel, voie la plus naturelle en ce vingt et unième siècle où le numérique prend toujours plus d’ampleur. Actuellement, je suis plongé dans l’écriture de mon second roman basé sur le gain à l’euromillion d’une très grande somme d’un ouvrier lambda qui va éprouver moult difficultés à gérer ce cataclysme dans sa vie, oscillant entre la bénédiction et la malédiction. Je compte reprendre le travail en septembre 2013 lorsque ma dernière fille fera son entrée en CP permettant ainsi à mon épouse de souffler un peu en prenant un temps partiel.

Aber ich traf auch die vom Leben enttäuschte Marie in Paris, deren Tränen bei mir, einem völlig Fremden, heraus brachen, und ich erinnere mich and die toten Körper in Delhis morgendlichen Straßen und die von Straßenkötern zerrissenen heiligen Kühe. Manchmal war die Reise, manchmal der Aufenthalt schwierig oder quälend für mich, immer erweiterte sie jedoch meinen Horizont. Seit Jahren schreibe ich auf, was sich in mir an verschiedenen Orten, Erlebnissen, Beobachtungen, Szenen, kleinen und kleinsten Splittern in banalen und exotischen Ländern entzündet. Manchmal sind es schlimme, manchmal schöne Gedanken, die in meinen Geschichten oder Romanen Gestalt annehmen. Immer sind sie ein Stück meines Lebens. Lived predominately with Aboriginal people for the last decade of my stay, which gave me an insight into a culture that is very, very different to my own and an insight into the relationship and tensions between indigineous and non-indigineous people in this country. Returned to the UK in 2005 to spend time with my ailing Father and our relationship and our journey forms part of 'Cleaning Up'. 	Author bio: The L-Factor When I was four my father wrote of me, 'Adrian has so much love in his heart that he will always make it look easy'. Upon reading this, I felt devastated. He may as well have written, ‘Adrian is a dodo, he has no ability and will come to nothing’ is what I felt. My father was an ambitious man, so I thought that he had written me off: I wouldn’t have a big job, I wouldn’t bring in big money, I wouldn’t succeed. However, I now know that my father’s impression of me was a huge compliment, and it was intended as such. To Love (and be loved) is the greatest achievement (and challenge) of all, (and this is particularly true in a society that almost exclusively places value on a person on the basis of their success). I have been caught up in the 'L-Factor' - the 'love-challenge'- for many years now as a son, husband, father, friend and writer, and over the past few years, whenever I haven’t been busy changing nappies, deciphering baby-talk, kissing bumps better, hanging out clothes (I don't do ironing, much to my wife's chagrin), making dinners, or washing the dishes, I have been busy writing about it in fiction and non-fiction forms. Being a man with a history - a year spent in France, four in Japan, six at university in Britain, four years training to be a Catholic priest with the Jesuits in Ireland, ten years living through the conflict in Northern Ireland, and, finally, the past ten years or so as a stay-at-home father - I feel I have interesting things to say. My non-fiction work on conflict resolution, namely Socio-ideological Fantasy and the Northern Ireland Conflict (Manchester University Press, 2006), was short-listed in New York in 2007 for the Best Book Award by the National Association for the Advancement of Psychoanalysis, and was awarded Best Theoretical Paper award in 2001 by the American International Association for Conflict Management. My days now are currently spent at home fending for my kids, catching up with friends who inspire me, getting exercise, keeping my hand in with prayer, spoiling my wife - who spoils me - and writing about my experiences of life. 	Author bio: Born and educated in rural South Africa, Jeannette spent a year doing her OE. Married at 20, she farmed with her husband, first in South Africa then left with their 5 children for farming life in New Zealand. Their family increased to 6 when their little 'kiwi' son was born.
