Götterdämmerung | by Lothar Meinerzhagen May 19, 2011 | $14.99 | 540865 words | Sample 10% |
| Author bio: Born in a small German village east of Cologne, Germany, Lothar E. Meinerzhagen after finishing school, expressed his desire to work in journalism. First step was the Deutsche Journalistenschule (German School of Journalism) in Munich, followed by an apprenticeship at the highly respected Munich newspaper Münchner Merkur under the leadership of famous anchorman Franz Wördemann. But he then realized that the next few decades were to be in the music industry where he managed to become an executive for EMI Music. He worked for the company in Cologne, London, Los Angeles and Berlin, working with acts such as The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Queen, Little Steven and David Bowie amongst many. In 2002 he decided to call it quits pursuing other interests. All his life he was interested in military history and developed an enormous know-how which enabled him to act as a battlefield guide to friends and business colleagues alike. He now set up his vision of a battlefield travel company that took numerous military buffs to the beaches of Normandy, Peenemünde, Berlin, the Western Front of WWI, Crimea, Stalingrad (Volgograd) and Monte Cassino in Italy just to name a few destinations. In these years he developed the idea to “Götterdämmerung†and other stories related to WWI and WWII. His enormous knowledge of these events, his highly skilled technique of using even the smallest and hardly known historic detail makes his novels so entertaining. Though Lothar Meinerzhagen enjoyed a classical education he is certainly not in favour of so called political correct books and other publications. Instead, he loves to quote Evelyn Beatrice Hall, who wrote under the pseudonym S.G.Tallentyre a biography of Voltaire with the title “The Friends of Voltaireâ€: “I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it.†|

The eldest child of a career naval officer, he attended 9 schools in 12 years, as they moved about the country. His interest in local myths, legends and all things paranormal grew out of the ever-changing diversity of his upbringing. His first novel, “Shadow of the Thunderbirdâ€, was required reading at a large technical college in South Carolina. He has frequently lectured, appeared on radio and television shows, and presented at conferences on his books and interest in cryptozoology. He is often cited in the media as an expert on unknown or unexpected animals. He was instrumental in salvaging Dan Taylor’s Nessie chaser mini-subs, the Viperfish and the Nessa II, and is currently pursuing an interest in fossil diving. When he isn’t exploring remote locations such as the Altamaha River, Mt. The Unsettled | by Michael Schwaba Jan. 04, 2011 | $4.95 | 228558 words | Sample 45% |
| Author bio: I was born in Chicago on a sunny day in September, one month premature according to my mother. I emerged in the dark wee hours of the morning and four days later I was welcomed into an Irish/Polish Catholic family. I must have slept through it; I don’t remember much of it. I was the fourth child, and in time there would be four more, years before I left home and hometown to go out in the world on my own. My two earliest memories are: 1) lying on the floor, looking at an enormous pair of feet in front of me, and 2) Piano playing. My parents played; my mother’s parents played; my aunts and uncles played. I cannot recall many days when someone wasn’t playing the piano in our house. So, having a love of piano music, I eventually sat down one day and learned to play…the guitar. I loved reading at an early age. It stimulated my imagination, and this inspired me to write. Writing gives me purpose in life. It’s like looking in a mirror. “Oh! There you are! Thought I’d lost you…†I love writing as much as I love reading. I love the excitement of "watching" the characters and feeling the flow of words when I am in the "zone." I love the tired ecstasy of reading something finished, and knowing that it is better written than my last piece. I have even (sometimes) come to love writing myself into a corner, when I don't know where else to go, which I do much more frequently than I used to, only now it is not as crippling as it used to be, though it is still as exasperating. I have proved to myself over time that some of my best writing is to be found in those corners if I will simply do one thing when I don't feel like writing. And that is write. I still love making things up. MS |

The Penthouse | by Ian Cameron April 22, 2010 | $6.99 | 226129 words | Sample 25% |
| Author bio: G’day and greetings from down under! I am proudly Australian, my wife and I having lived in the sunny state of Queensland all of our married lives. Surrounded by stunning beaches, amazing mountains and unique, rugged beauty in such a striking part of the world, I find an abundance of wonderful inspiration, with a myriad of topics to write about. It is my firm belief that readers desire realistic, impacting stories filled with romance, action and suspense, and I make it my goal always to provide these thrilling components. And while I genuinely love to write, my utmost pleasure comes from trying to surprise the reader at the end of a novel. In my view, the ‘twist’ at the end, the ‘sting in the tail’, is the ultimate goal. Hence, it is my desire to be recognised always as a writer who delivers memorable, even shocking reality, as well as love and life, but while always seeking to ‘trick’ the reader, leaving him or her to reel at the final twist! |

Free Will (and Other Compulsions) | by J. Daniel Sawyer Oct. 26, 2011 | $4.95 | 219614 words | Sample 20% |
| Author bio: J. Daniel Sawyer is a hat-wearing, obsessive-compulsive autodidact attempting to write his way out of the loony bin. A self-aggrandizing science fiction and fantasy author who publishes lurid stories and, worse, the occasional popular philosophy article, he is also a very minor authority on Open Source media production (a topic on which he is, unfortunately, published regularly in LinuxJournal). In addition to his wanton abuse of the printed word, he unscrupulously uses his decade-long experience as an audio and video producer with his painfully florid and gritty writing style to create deeply immersive audio universes. This habit, which he indulges in public, has garnered him seven Parsec nominations and helped him make his first professional fiction and philosophy sales (a trend which, for the good of the world at large, we can only hope abates soon). Meanwhile, his growing, rabid fan-base is currently plotting to imprison him and force him to produce endless new literary abominations for their amusement. We can only hope they succeed. Should you be so inclined, you can communicate with this shady character, as well as find podcasts, articles, and other literary abominations at http://www.jdsawyer.net |

Safe On Third | by D.F. Zorensky July 01, 2010 | $4.95 | 209739 words | Sample 20% |
| Author bio: D. F. Zorensky, author of Safe On Third, is an attorney and mediator, who now resides in Northern California after spending many years in Washington, D.C., where much of the historical research for this book was done at the Library of Congress. A graduate of Harvard Law School and Yale, Mr. Zorensky was at one time a government labor lawyer, as well as the chief counsel of a U.S. Senate subcommittee. Reaching the peak of his own political career, Mr. Zorensky once served as the mayor of Ross, California. Safe On Third is Mr. Zorensky's first novel. An August 30, 2010 review by Kirkus Discoveries has described the book as a "meticulous historical novel," in which the physical, cultural and political world of 1940 is "painstakingly" recreated. The review notes that "Zorensky makes good use of historical cameos, too, peppering the text with visits from the likes of Charles Lindbergh, labor leader John L. Lewis and a few dozen professional baseball figures." The reviewer does express some reservations about Zorensky's adherence to history and his "passion" for historical details, but adds: "A fun, melodramatic and authentic spy thriller is contained in the text...." Project: Dragonslayers | by K. Rowe Jan. 29, 2011 | $4.99 | 203468 words | Sample 30% |
| Author bio: After serving just over 20 years in the Air Force, I made the ultimate job switch: to farmer and author. It was a drastic change, not to mention a drastic pay cut! I’ve been writing 25+ years and have been published in a variety of media: book, newspaper, photography, and magazine. I love to write, it seems to be a passion I can’t ever seem to satisfy. I’ve been publishing a series of books in the Dragonslayers Saga. The first book, Project: Dragonslayers is an MWSA award winning novel about an unlikely Special Forces team who are thrown headlong into the world of counterterrorism. The second book, Dragonslayers: Mind Games continues the saga where the team enters the twisted world of al-Qaeda. They must find the source of a mystery explosive, or risk losing more innocent civilians to attacks. This book was selected for the MWSA summer 2011 reading list. Third book in the series: Dragonslayers: Battle Rhythm, has just been released. This time it’s Yemen, and the team finds out they’re not invincible. Also I've expanded my work in other genres. Out now is the best-selling contemporary romance, Cowboys and Olympians. You’ll meet and fall in love with Leo Richards, a champion reining horse trainer as he tries to convince himself that he can love again after his wife and unborn child were killed in a fiery car crash. He falls for Katie Shulman, a rich, stubborn woman who just doesn’t like cowboys. A supernatural thriller titled The Hall is complete and in editing stage. Projected release will be 2012 sometime. You’ll meet Marcus Bishop, wealthy Memphis book publisher; his new and terrifically eccentric best friend, Prince Mongo; along with a ghost and demons that haunt the old castle Marcus buys. Also just released, the first book in a sci-fi trilogy: Space Crazy introduces you to Dar Meltom, a half breed alien who’s had a rough life. He longs for a life in the stars, and as difficult as it is, his mother manages to give that to him. Space Junk, the second book in the “Dar’s adventures in space†series is also completed. The final book in the series, Space Available, is in the works. Keep your eyes out, in time; you’ll have lots to read from me. Check back on my page to see if there's anything new. Become a Fan of Dragonslayers on the Facebook page and you can read excerpts from all 5 books (2 currently unpublished) As always, I appreciate feedback and book reviews. I'm a small fish in a huge ocean just trying to stay afloat. I love my writing and pour heart and soul into each work I do. Most recently, I was given a rare distinction of placing 4th in Ron Knight's top 100 Facebook authors of 2011. He starts with 8,000 and narrows it down to 100. An honor indeed. http://www.authorronknight.com/2011/12/ron-knight%E2%80%99s-top-100-authors-on-facebook-50-1/ MWSA: Military Writer’s Society of America http://www.militarywriters.com/ |

James is also a part time fitness instructor specializing in Spinning, Bootcamp training, and Self-Defense. |

The Paymasters | by Joe Travis Aug. 14, 2011 | $2.99 | 200576 words | Sample 10% |
| Author bio: I think we will start this bio while I was in grade school. Yes, I spent most summers in Wyoming starting in 1952. I started my working life there working on a ranch, riding fence, owned by family friends in 1954. I managed to use at least part of my summer’s income to start learning to fly. I also managed to acquire a rifle and a pistol, a Colt .45 Automatic Government model and rifle, a surplus Springfield model 1903A1. At fifteen, I joined another family friend in supporting seismology crews in the field. Yes, I needed fake ID to work there at that age, doing what we did and for whom we did it. If all of this sounds familiar, it should as I used much of my own life as a blueprint for the character of Josh. Thank you Hemmingway and many others on that piece of information. Authors call it writing what you know about…. This story and the ones to follow are not autobiography’s in anyway though. On that note, I’ll give you a little more of my bio for a blueprint to the next novel. I enlisted in the Air Force the last day of September 1959, and I became a weather observer. My first assignment was in Klamath Falls, Oregon on an Air Defense Command installation on a civilian airfield. In April of 1962, I arrived in France for my next assignment. There I became a combat weather observer amongst several other things. On that note, I will continue my bio with the next book. Until then live life fully and observe what is going on around you like there will be no tomorrow. You to may want to write a novel one day and you have to understand those stories are all around you, all the time. You, like me, only need to open our minds to them. |

Shadow of the Thunderbird: Book 1 of The Cryptids Trilogy | by Dallas Tanner Nov. 26, 2010 | $2.99 | 193570 words | Sample 20% |
| Author bio: Dallas Tanner was born in 1956, at the stroke of midnight during the worst storm of the century to that date, in the seacoast township of North Kingston, Rhode Island. St. Helens or Loch Ness, Tanner is content to write novels under the watchful eye of Samwise, the longhaired Maine Coon that sleeps atop his monitor. Dallas now lives in Greenville, SC, with his wife Carla and their five children, where he is at work on his latest project. Dragonslayers: Mind Games | by K. Rowe Dec. 08, 2010 | $4.99 | 191725 words | Sample 30% |
