From The Bit Bucket: (A)Musings on Engineering, Supervision, and Management | by Francis Porretto Feb. 28, 2010 | Free! | 37836 words | Read a sample |
| Author bio: Francis W. Porretto was born in 1952. Things went steadily downhill from there. Fran is an engineer and fictioneer who lives on the east end of Long Island, New York. He's short, bald, homely, has bad acne and crooked teeth. His neighbors hold him personally responsible for the decline in local property values. His life is graced by one wife, two stepdaughters, three dogs, five cats, too many power tools to list, and an old ranch house furnished in Early Mesozoic style. His 12,000 volume (and growing) personal library is considered a major threat to the stability of the North American tectonic plate. Publishing industry professionals describe Fran's novels as "Unpublishable. Horrible, but unpublishable all the same." (They don't think much of his short stories, either.) He's thought of trying bribery, but isn't sure he can afford the $3.95. Time was, all Fran's fictions WERE free to whoever might care to read them. Back then, he wanted readers more than revenue. However, that has changed, along with certain other of his circumstances, so he now asks what he hopes you'll consider a modest price for his novels and stories. (The novelette "Farm Girl" is still free. A loss leader, if you will.) I have to do what?? For that little pay?? God's manual for employment. | by Free From Bondage Ministry Oct. 21, 2010 | Free! | 10901 words | Read a sample |
| Author bio: Free From Bondage Ministry was started just a few short years ago. As a newly ordained minister, I felt that too many people were tinkering around with God's Word. Translating it into what made them comfortable, rather than how God's Word could help them be accountable and truly righteous. And the stakes are too high to be tinkering. It is your eternal life you are gambling with. Because there is a distinct difference between saying to believe in God, and acting as a believer in God. And that difference could make all the difference for your salvation. The message from Free From Bondage Ministry is simple, yet not easy. But we have seen "miracles" that even many with a strong faith discard as "impossible". Which made us aware that the message we got from God needed to be brought to a bigger public. Hence these books. There is more information available at our website: www.freefrombondage.weebly.com And yes, we are a very small ministry. No bells and whistles, no fancy stuff. We use what comes our way to spread God's Word. So referrals are highly appreciated. May God bless you, Free From Bondage Ministry. |

The illiterates guide to writing ebooks | by Jestin Lightner March 04, 2011 | Free! | 2479 words | Read a sample |
| Author bio: I learned how to play guitar from the devil himself. I have a small music promotion company called Donut Incident. Feel free to check out it's myspace page and check out some new music from some awesome friends of mine. I wrote short stories and stuff for my D&D groups throughout the years and they were mostly oriented around the planes because planescape was cool back in the nineties and spelljammer was old. I also wrote a five hundred page poetry book based on love and LSD trips back in the nineties while I was playing in a band called Hollow and plotting to take over the music world from a garage and a donut shop. Whatever, later on in life I was sittin in jail and was like, wtf, I can write better than this crap they are force feeding us and so I started to finish The Shadowbelt after first developing the idea way back in the day and throwing up some chapters online back in my Ft. Myers days. Unfortunately the last half of the book went missing cause I'm a cluts so I have cut the second part back a bit and have rewritten it in a way cool fashion and it has taken a completely different turn for the better. Really happy with the results so please feel free to check out "The Shadowbelt 2 "Divided Wings". Anyone out there have any idea how many music videos have been based off of my work? It's been an honor and a privelege overall and I hope that even if you end up not liking my books you will at least get turned on to some cool music while you are here. Here is my reverbnation page http://www.reverbnation.com/artist/control_room/1525931#!/Hollow8Nothing |

| Author bio: The history of BrainCapital technologies has its humble beginnings in 1988 . David Lee secured a Singapore Merchant Banking Scholarship which led to stints in Goldman Sachs New York and trips to Chicago Trading Houses . This helped to incubate an idea to develop a machine driven program-trading software for foreign exchange David with help from scientists came up with the first version a couple of years later and subsequently in April 1993, made a presentation of the model and findings at the SECOND ANNUAL INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE APPLICATIONS ON WALL STREET. The underlying pattern recognition technology has undergone much refinement ever since. Between 1993 and 1997, the software was used extensively by program traders at Hong Kong Bank, Swiss Bank Corp and BHF Bank. Subsequently , a governmental grant and venture capital group funding by Boston based VC followed in 1998 . Since then , Braincapital technologies has been used by several MNC banks and also a Top 10 program trader who traded 12 percent of stocks on the NYSE. The technologies use state of the art artificial intelligent technologies like neural nets , fuzzy logic and genetic algorithms . Through millions of computational intensive mathematical calculations , the technologies output a 6 step best scenario for each individual stock , bond or currency .Statistically , it can be verified that the technologies has a 65 to 80 percent accuracy rate of predicting price momentum ( speed of trend ) for intraday , daily and weekly time spans. Viceroy International Limited in 2002 completed the 100 percent buy back of BrainCapital technologies . |
