VOICES IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT

Bekka walked into a room, and dropped onto her bed. It was late at night and she wanted too rest. She wanted to close her eyes in order to dream. She wanted to rest her head upon her pillow and have a good night's sleep. The day had been long and she wanted to ease her overworked mind. She wanted to close her eyes and have a good nights sleep until she felt good.

Bekka stripped herself of her top and her pants, and then sprinted across the room in order to put on her nightgown. She felt a great deal warmer when she had it on, and she soon slipped into the covers of her quilts in order to lay her body down.

“Good night...” she uttered to the blank walls that were there in order to make her feel safe.

Bekka closed her eyes and began to sleep. She closed her eyes and began to dream. She wandered into an ink black abyss, and she felt so good as she began to float inside her own cave.

“This is wonderful.” a sigh announced as she floated along a trail that made her feel immensely calm.

However then she started to feel cool, and she suddenly realized that she had forgotten to close the window. The wash of cold breeze began to float through the room, and cause her skin to shiver. She began to drift away from her slumber as the kiss of cool breath made her wake. She felt her body flinch, and she felt her fingers move as she began to wake up.

Suddenly a scream pierced the air, and Bekka flicked her eyes open as the shrill sound echoed throughout her ears. She got up out of bed, and opened her door in an abrupt motion as alarm bells rang through her ears. She walked down a darkened hall, and walked into an empty living room. Her memory jumped to life, and she began to recall that she had heard voices upon the midnight air. However the rooms were blank despite the fact that cold chills could be still felt all over her body. She could still feel her pulse beat in unchained rhythms, and hear the echo of the scream inside her ear drums. However there was nothing but vacancy in the spaces of the house that were real, and with a shrug she moved back to her bedroom in order to creep back into bed where she could ease her mind and go to sleep.
