More than a performer I am primarily a producer and more than a producer I am primarily a Coach ... I like teaching others what I have learned all this years as a performing artist. Most writers can't help themselves! It's a compulsion. Getting published, though, is something really special, and having been so fortunate myself I now try to help aspiring writers by handing on tips it took me years to work out. I've published over 60 titles, including four in the How To Books' Successful Writing Series, and Writing Historical Fiction for Studymates. I have judged short story competitions, been a final judge for the Harry Bowling Prize and was an adviser to the 3rd edition of Twentieth Century Romance and Historical Writers 1994. If you want to find out more about your favourite authors, consult this book. I once wrote an article on writing romantic fiction for the BBC's web page, for Valentine's day. I have given talks and workshops for the Arts Council and at most of the major Writing Conferences, and helped establish the Romantic Novelists' Association's annual conference. I was Chairman of the RNA 1991-3, ran their New Writers' Scheme and edited their newsletter. I am now a Vice-President. As well as writing I have edited books for Transita, featuring women 'of a certain age', and for Choc Lit where gorgeous heros are the norm. I was asked to write A Century of Achievement, a 290 page history of my old school, Queen Mary's High School, Walsall, and commissioned to write a book on Castles and Corvedale to accompany a new circular walk in the area. Most of my Regencies written under the pseudonym Sally James are now published in ebook format as well as many others of my out of print novels which my husband is putting into ebook format. Our daughter Debbie is helping with designing the covers. For details of all my books and my many pseudonyms see my website.

Life in Ireland began to unfold for author Eva Doherty Gremmert in 1985, when she traveled to Carndonagh, Co. Donegal for the first time with her father and uncle (first generation born in America of Irish parents), and her two sisters. The sights and sounds, scents and foods, brogues and laughter, music and dancing held her spellbound from the moment she set foot in Ireland. Since those wonderful first days, she has put down deep roots in the community from which her grandparents emigrated so long ago. Innumerable trips have now come and gone. Professionally she is a genealogist specializing in Irish research and her own family tree is filled with stories of the old times, the famine times, the ways and means by which the family endured and prospered. Eva has collected books, periodicals, letters, photos, and keepsakes that create a tapestry of Irish life in the towns and town lands of the ancestors she holds dear. From a wealth of detailed research and family stories, comes this story of Mary “Hudie” Doherty, Eva’s great grandmother. This is Eva’s first work of historical fiction. With four grown children and her own expanding posterity (currently four grandchildren), she is anxiously engaged in her family life of today. Eva and her husband, Arden, spend their time at their homes in Carnation, Washington and Carndonagh, Ireland.

John Wolf, author of “Orphan Records”, “A Dark and Stormy Knight”, “Harmonics”, “Of Beryl & Alabaster” and "Benny Plays the Blues." Also, a mess of short stories. I've been a hack musician most of my life. I spent 13 years as a navigator in the Air Force, pursued a profession as an engineer, and retired to writing action stories and mysteries. All of these things, plus the odd environment of growing up in New Mexico has given me a joyful perch from which to look out onto life. I was a songwriter for several years, but found being lost in the constructs of writing a novel more fulfilling. The songs were just short stories, my short stories vignettes of ideas, the novels a real sense of being out there riding the waves. John writes from his home in San Diego, California.

I was born in West Virginia, spent the second part of my life in Florida, lived a while in the Virgin Islands and the rest has been like a traveling sideshow, rarely settling in one place for too long. Since I’m originally from West Virginia my first book, A Lack of Civility, is based on the split between Virginia and West Virginia during the Civil War. This is the first book I wrote almost 20 years ago after reading a box of my grandmother’s romance novels, but life happened and it ended up sitting in a box for almost two decades. It is also my first experience with epublishing so I decided to dust it off and see how things worked out. My fairly new writing partner and I have just finished the second book, a fantasy satire, which has been submitted to a traditional publisher for consideration (fingers crossed), but will find its way to an ebook at some point, one way or the other, I’m sure. We are also currently working on the first book in a series of murder mysteries that will be out in ebook format by the end of the second quarter of 2012 and have just started the outline for what we hope will be a 9-book science fiction series.

A Note from Ichiyo by Rei Kimura A Note from Ichiyo by Rei Kimura April 15, 2011 $5.99 57359 words Sample 20%
Author bio:
Rei Kimura is a lawyer with a passion for writing about unique events and personalities. She has adopted an interesting style of creating stories around true events and the lives of real people in a number of her books, believing that is the best way of making hidden historical events and people come alive for 21st century readers. With this objective in mind, Rei has touched on historical events like the horrific sinking of the Awa Maru and the Kamikaze pilots of World War II and woven them into touching stories of the people who lived and died through these events. Then there are stories of courage, love and rejection beautifully portrayed in “Butterfly In the Wind” a story of the concubine of Townsend Harris, first American consul to Japan, set against the colorful and turbulent era of the Black Ships. This book has touched the hearts of many and been translated into languages from Spanish, Polish, Russian, Dutch to Thai, Hindi, Indonesian, Marathi. Rei's writing also touches on interesting issues like that raised in “Japanese Magnolia” a book based on the true story of two men, a samurai and a peasant who dared to cross two forbidden areas in feudal Japan, that of homosexuality and a class society “so sharply defined it cut like a knife.” Other controversial stories she has written include “Japanese Rose” a book which asked the question was there ever a Japanese female kamikaze pilot in the Second World War? But it's not all history and culture, she also writes on contemporary events like “Aum Shinrikyo-Japan’s Unholy Sect” an expose of the 1995 sarin gas attack on the Tokyo subway. Occasionally, her love for animals and sense of humor surfaces in this very heart warming and delightful story of a rogue Pomeranian dog, “My Name is Eric,” a complete departure from Rei’s normal story lines but nevertheless, a refreshing one! Kimura considers her writing as part of the perennial quest for truth, challenge and fulfillment. Her books have been translated into various Asian and European languages and widely read all over the world. Apart from being a lawyer, Rei Kimura is also a qualified freelance journalist and is associated with the Australian News Syndicate.

A Question of Love by Carolyn Ann Aish A Question of Love by Carolyn Ann Aish Aug. 10, 2011 $3.99 54563 words Sample 20%
Author bio:
Born in the small town of Waitara, Taranaki, New Zealand, in June 1948, this second child in the Gundesen family was named Carolyn Ann. Having invested time at a Bible Institute in Virginia, in the U.S.A., (1975-1977), Walter and Carolyn became foundational Pastor and Pastor's wife of Liberty Baptist Church which now has a church in New Plymouth as well as the original one in Inglewood. While in the U.S.A., Carolyn took a class in journalism in the Bible College. Her teacher, Marie Chapman, told her, "You must write, Carolyn; you have it in you, and you must write." The example of seeing Mrs Chapman use every moment to jot down thoughts, recording them in her notebook, left a lasting impression on Carolyn who now seeks to use every spare moment in her chosen and compulsive craft. Others do knitting and cross-stitch; Carolyn writes. In 1991, Carolyn's first novel, TREASURES, was published in the United States of America; followed by CASTLES. In 1992, a third in this series, (The Frencolian Chronicles) was published, KINGDOMS. Three prequels in this series have been published since then, but fans are asking for more. SECRETS is the next planned book in this series. Working at odd hours and some 'stolen' time, (minutes here and there are valuable to such a writer), Carolyn continued her creative works, adding the extra task of printing and publishing her books so that fans who write for 'more' are kept somewhat satisfied. Carolyn has over 35 books published, not including a set of creative writing stationary she designed and published in 1998. More of Carolyn's bio and writing credits can be found on her personal website

Author bio:
I write historical fiction set in New Zealand, starting in the 1880s. I've self-published four novels so far, and am working on a fifth. I'm fascinated by social history, particularly that of my own country. I live in a state of barely-controlled chaos; fortunately I share my life with an invariably calm and endlessly optimistic husband. I divide my time between an apartment in the city, in reach of good espresso, and a few acres in the country, where the rank grass in the orchard is kept under control by a small mob of sheep (and where we have our own espresso machine). When I'm not writing, reading, or engaged in mundane activities, I play the piano rather badly.
